Martens Metal Design Group formed several years ago when Teri Martens took an industrial welding class with her husband, Marv, to help in his car restoration hobby. She started making flowers from junk, finding raw materials at swap meets, flea markets, garage sales and from the family farm. She made owls, fish, birds and monsters out of saw blades, old wrenches and tools and whatever she could find. Most of her early works were given away but she did a small gallery show in August 2013 and then participated in a RAW Art Event in September, 2013. In 2014 she was invited to join the Noyes Art Gallery in Lincoln, NE and still enjoys consistent sales through the gallery and special shows held there. Marv provides his engineering expertise in the construction of big pieces and he manages new material procurement and maintenance of the equipment. Although small, we’re busy enough that most evenings you can find us working on various projects out in the shop.
